about

Championed (solely) by Sir Les 'Fruitbat' Carter on his Phoenix FM radio show, Billy's Comet were, if nothing else, prolific. Recording, that is. There was but one gig. In 1999, me, Liam, Cameron and Buck played 'Out of Time' at the Carville Hotel as support to Geek Theatre.

We moved out of the flat in 2003 and the tape heads seized a short time later. A sign from above? Domesticity took hold and, apart from the occasional flurry of activity over the next few years, that was that. Billy's Comet were no more. Or, as I like to think, had fallen into a very deep sleep.

To call this 'album' an odds & sods collection of poor quality leftovers would be to imply that 'That's No Moon...' is so much more than that. Hmmm.....

Why Billy's?..... I remember a conversation at the time about who named comets. Why not?..... It wasn't until years later I thought of Mr. Haley and his Comets.

'Concerns for the Wellbeing of the Feeble Minded' was the title of a government paper from the 1950's relating to the 1913 Mental Deficiency Bill.

Needless to say, this album should never be listened to by anyone.
